Previously on windows 2000 server, using pop3 mailboxes with windows xp desktop, some shared printing.

They requested the ability to have shared calendars, get access to the server from home, webmail and shared folders.

Xylene specified a new dell server and installed windows 2008 server (64 bit) with the following features

1:-terminal server, allowing local and remote access to a virtual desktop

2:-exchange server 2007, allowing shared calendar and web access to mailboxes

3:-three different printers all given network access availabel to all users

4:-ability to fully backup and restore sever

5:-IPv6 setup to ensure future compatibilty

6:-VNC installed on all desktop’s to allow remote admin access via terminal server to allow general support questions to be resolved.

7:-v-base and e-target installed on sever

All of our servers are now runnng  both v4 and v6 IP stacks.

This allows us to offer the unique services of v6 to v4 and v4 to v6 mail relay (run ipv6 at home / office and run your own mail server)

IV6 allows you to bypass all the limitations of IPV4, probably your isp blocks port 25 / 110 for e-mail (incoming) and probably port 80 for web incoming, this seriously hampers the abilityfor you to run a server

IPV6 allows you to have almost unlimited static addresses, using the home client you can route port 80 from both v4 and v6 (run a webserver at home or in the office) and our mail relay allows you to run a mail server at home.
